weekend chore- stash culling

quoted from stephanie pearl-mcphee's day at a time calendar 2009

stash culling: culling is reducing the population by selectively removing the weak members, and that's what you'll do this weekend with your yarn stash. you and I both know there's stuff in there you're never going to knit. it's cool to keep it for inspiration or because you love it, but if it's there for no reason? cull it from the herd and pass it on to a school, retirement home, or charity.

this chore fit right into my project! how I smiled when I read this. I'm way behind in this day at a time calendar (this chore was dated january 31st). you see, I just found it again after tucking it away in a knitting bag (it was probably under my stash!).

so I did my stash culling yesterday and dropped of the donations for our church crafters, who would be meeting tonight. I hope I was able to bless a few friends with the donations.

so over the past few weeks, I've been able to take my "stash" down from this:
to this:visit the flickr photo to see the projects that are planned.

be sure to stop back tomorrow afternoon, it's my one year blog celebration day! I'll have a few things to bless a special reader with.

good for you girl! blessing others is always a blessing. I need to go through my stash too and pass on some blessings, thanks for the encouragement to get culling.

Nice stash busting! It always feels good to pass something lovely on to someone else who will love using it :)
