a countdown of sorts

last week I flew solo. after seeing mark off on his flight, I started down the runway of my week.

'tis the season for lists! the grass is growing, which means mowing. dandelions are popping up, which means weed control. the temperatures are warming, which means sandals! and the baseball schedules have been published, which means the end of school will be here before I know it.

I'm now using my weekly lists as a "countdown" of sorts ... a list of projects I want to complete prior to the end of school.

I've also begun an intentional list for summer:
I want to will be present for the boys.
I want to will choose the activity over the chore.
I want to will choose what is "best" over something "good."

I think you're on the right track here! It is so hard to believe the school year is winding down. Colin is actually coming home from college today. Where did that year go?

If your garden is anything like mine, with all the rain we've had, it's become a big jungle -- it's almost to the point of no return anyway (so much for weeding!). Enjoy those baseball games.

I'm always so surprised at how busy the end of the school year is - maybe it's because I always expect it to be slower. I too am looking forward to summer and have similar thought of being involved with the fun things for my daughter. Consciously making a list is a great idea to stay on track - they grow up so quickly.

Good luck with your lists! Sometimes it is so hard to stay present and leave all the rest of the 'stuff' in order to just spend time with our family but it is so important. Thanks for the reminder!

Love that list! Kiddos only hang around us for a short period of time - chores are forever! Cute toes, lady!
