words for wednesday

the purpose of the task
is to strengthen the relationship.
- professor unknown

I so needed to read this post today. over the past few weeks I've been doing a lot of soul searching...evaluating my life...the big (how to be more like Him), the small (what's for dinner), the ugly (my need for control), the partner (encouraging the traveler), the mommy (taking care of young ones), the productive (using a "to-do" list to get it "to-done"), and the fun (knitting, cross stitching, card making, sewing, scrap booking, reading, blogging, etc...). my desire is to invest in the relationships. now I need to align my parts.

thanks for sharing that link. that is so powerful. it takes away the tasks and makes them about the relationships instead. You are amazing and the relationships that you have developed and cultivated throughout your life are testimony to that!

This is good stuff. I'm going to write that quote down and memorize it.

Thank you so much for sharing that link. I hopped over and read it and I am so thank ful I did. Refocusing my attention to the relationship and not my to-do's will definitely help!

the traveler is encouraged. check, check. missed you from the moment i left ... counting down the moments 'til i return to you. big love from the road.

That link makes so much sense. Really it does. I hope everything aligns for you (including the stars). Hang in there!

Thanks for sharing the link. What a great post!

One thing that helps me is to remind myself (sometimes over and over) that I am doing my job (whatever that task or job may be) as unto the Lord. We may not see ANY reward here for doing many things we do. But God sees and will reward us for a job well done when he sees us...:) People are the only thing we can bring to heaven with us, so those relationships are so important!
We do need to be thankful for the things we can accomplish (on lists), but not beat ourselves up for the things we are unable to do. We are only ONE person.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

xoxo Gloria

this makes so much sense. sometimes i wish my older guys needed more help with homework so that i could spend more time strengthening. Kristyn, sounds like you miss your guy - i've never "met" anyone who is as attentive as you are - who doesn't forget a date or a holiday or a birthday and who is always there with a kind word. I cannot imagine that you are not the same with your kiddos and mark. Enjoy your weekend - choose to breathe deeply and everything will align friend. In the meantime i'll post this quote on my fridge for when i'm washing dishes!

Lots of big thoughts! It's great to have some time just to think about all of those thoughts.
