hello july...

the weekend was slow and easy. some might even call it boring. other than a couple family activities, we each "puttered" around the house...sleeping, laundering, purging, knitting, reading, wii gaming it...you can probably guess which of those activities I was doing.
it was good.

sounds idyllic to me. and I'm loving your watermelon sticks...you're going to be so famous for those. WoW! Glad July is kickin' off so wonderfully for you and the family. I love the crisp new look of your blog banner too by the way! miss you terribly...really terribly.

i can certainly vouch for the ideal nature of last weekend. holidays always bring a twinge for travel for me, but it was so wise to spend this one at home. and "loved" seems so inadequate to describe the feeling of being able to spend the extra time with you. i wish we could cork the bottle on the joy and rest, and sprinkle liberally during those hectic times that are a certain part of modern day life.

great post!

I love your header and you were smart to put season and year. I also love the quote. Boy do I need to keep joy in my heart and mind. Also the Christmas countdown - you'll keep me on track for present making.

Heavens to Betsy -- your weekend doesn't sound boring at all -- sounds very productive and active -- purging, laundry, wii gaming, etc.!
I'm so ready for a few days of boring, but my version will most likely be really really boring -- as in sitting on my growing fanny whilst reading, eating, drinking tea, watching movies and doing mindless knitting ;-).
Blessings and wishes for restful days to you Little Friend!
