the best days are family days

"these were the best two days of my life."
"really? why do you say that?"
"because I was able to be at home the whole time."

as a mom, your heart just has to warm with conversations like this one. even though he missed the halloween party, missed trick-or-treat with his best friend, missed wearing his costume, and took a trip to stat care (all because of a fever and flu symptoms), he was still able to think the past two days were the best yet.

I'm with spencer. the past two days were really great family days! our moments were spent at home together...
{reading}

{listening to music}

{taking time outs for knitting}

{finishing projects}

{carving pumpkins}

and {decorating for a new season}

Sorry your guy was sick! but how amazing are you that you made the best of it and enjoyed your family time. I love how your fls is coming along and good for you that you "encouraged" your hubbie to do projects around the house while you hung out with the boys and knit. your carved pumpkins are fabulous - you all are a talented bunch! hope everyone stays healthy!

Hope Spencer's on his way to feeling better...I thought that quote would have been from Connor. How great that it was Spencer who could say those things after the disappointments that he faced this weekend. Love all your photos. That pumpkin one should go on an October calendar for sure! I still need to pull out my Thanksgiving stuff...thanks for the visual reminder! Keep being such a great mom and wife...you're making a huge difference in the lives of your boys...it's so obvious!

Oh -- I hope your little one is better. This flu-business is such a worry. I'm glad your weekend had some bright spots.

Sorry to hear we was sick. Our school has been closed due to flu so the kids and I have had the past five days together. It's been wonderful! My kids were sick two weeks ago, so they were healthy for our time together.
