thoughtful fridays

just visited leslie and then hurrayic and thought I'd play along with the thoughtful friday idea.
Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
-early morning at Rock Mountain 2006

some things I'm thinking about:
finishing the purge and re-order of my craft space (must finish this weekend)
preparing our taxes
getting back on track with exercise (must be intentional about this)
meal planning (come back again to learn of my successful week)
creating by using what I have (the focus of many of my recent posts)
being completely and unconditionally loved by my husband (feels good)

what are you thinking about?

i am thinking about how blessed i am to have you. and how great i feel after reading your post. and about how oddly wonderful it feels, not to hear that i am loved, but to hear that you love being loved by me. does that make any sense?!

I'm thinking about the thoughtful comment you left on my post re: quilting. If you have any interest at all, I suggest you go for it. Quilting is not difficult and so satisfying. All you need to start is a self healing cutting mat, a rotary cutter and an acrylic ruler - and fabric (use what you have!) If you don't have a sewing machine, buy a $100 one from Walmart or Sears - they sew as wall as the expensive ones! To start, cut any 2 fabrics you like into 6" squares and chain piece them together - this is so much fun - just place two squares right sides together and sew, then without pinning or cutting the thread, stick in two more - do this for one hour and you have enough for a baby quilt!

As for quilting, I machine quilt all of my quilts because I like instant gratification, but there are some good books and videos out there on hand quilting (Jinny Beyer has some great ones)! It's not difficult, but it does take time. I sure do hope you complete your grandmother's quilt - it will mean so much more to you when you can actually snuggle under it.

Your husband's comment is so sweet. My husband, too, tells me he loves me every day. I'm thinking we are truly fortunate to have our men.

I'm thinking I'm glad to be home and back in touch with my friend! I'm so thankful for you and for the friendship that we have. Thanks for your interest in Mag's tournament! It was so great talking to you last night.
